New African Worship Companion launched
The African continent has its own rich musical history. In addition to the traditional hymns and popular worship songs used in the Western world, church congregations there sing a huge variety of regional songs which are passed down from generation to generation and often never written down. These are typically set to regional rhythms such as Hi-Life, Woror and Makossa.
When Hymn Technology Ltd was asked to produce a Hymnal product suitable for use by African churches, it was clear the standard "western" HT-300 wouldn't completely satisfy the unique set of requirements for this region. However, with its proven combination of a high quality soundset and easy to use touch screen, the HT-300 has provided the perfect basis for the world's first African Hymnal product - the Worship Companion.
African musicians recorded hundreds of regional tunes for the Worship Companion, as well as providing an original set of African drum rhythms to complement them. The same African musicians then worked with the engineers at Hymn Technology to produce a range of new preset sound combinations (styles) to match these regional tunes. Additional upgrade packages of extra African worship songs are already being recorded.
The Worship Companion is receiving a warm welcome in Nigeria and Ghana, and the distributor is planning to introduce it across the continent shortly. If you would like further details on the new Worship Companion, please contact the sole distributor directly.
